Sap and bird droppings
Park under a gum for a week up here and you will find both. Sap and droppings are acidic and they etch clear coat quickly, especially on a warm bonnet. Getting them off early is the difference between a wash and a polish.

Blue Mountains NSW · Mobile service
Professional mobile detailing, paint correction and ceramic coating from Mount Victoria to Blaxland. We work the mountains from the western end, so the upper mountains is a short run rather than a trip up from Sydney.
Detailing across the mountains
Most professional detailing in the Blue Mountains comes up from Sydney. We come across from Lithgow — about twenty minutes from Mount Victoria and thirty-five from Katoomba.
That matters for two practical reasons. Travel time is not padded into your quote, and a mobile booking in Blackheath or Leura is a normal working day for us rather than an expedition. We run the length of the line — Mount Victoria, Blackheath, Medlow Bath, Katoomba, Leura, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Hazelbrook, Woodford, Springwood and Blaxland.
Detailing, interior work and maintenance happen at your place. Paint correction and ceramic coating are booked into the Lithgow workshop, because both need controlled lighting and still, dust-free air to be done properly.

Why mountains paint works harder
Cars in the Blue Mountains cop a specific set of conditions. Knowing what you are actually fighting is most of the job — here is what we see on nearly every vehicle that comes to us.
Park under a gum for a week up here and you will find both. Sap and droppings are acidic and they etch clear coat quickly, especially on a warm bonnet. Getting them off early is the difference between a wash and a polish.
Plenty of mountains driveways barely see direct sun. Paint stays wet longer, moss and lichen take hold on rubbers and trims, and interiors hold a musty smell that a vacuum will not shift.
Most of the upper mountains sits around a kilometre above sea level. UV is harsher than people expect, and it is why red and black paint up here goes flat faster than the same car garaged closer to the coast.
The Great Western Highway gets gritted through winter. That grit and the road film with it sits in the lower panels and wheel arches, and grinds away at the finish every time the car is washed carelessly.
An hour and a half each way on the highway means bug splatter, brake dust and road film in volumes a town car never sees. Coated paint turns that into a ten-minute rinse instead of an afternoon.
After a bad season ash gets into everything, and it is alkaline. Left on paint through a couple of dew cycles it will mark it.

Not sure what your car needs
Paint condition is hard to judge from the driver's seat. Send through a handful of photos in daylight and we'll tell you honestly what your vehicle needs — and what it doesn't.
FAQ
Yes. We run our mobile service the full length of the mountains, from Mount Victoria and Blackheath through Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls down through Springwood to Blaxland. Because we are based in Lithgow we come at the mountains from the western end, which makes us closer to the upper mountains than almost any Sydney-based detailer. Correction and ceramic coating work is usually booked into the Lithgow workshop, which is about twenty minutes from Mount Victoria.
Yes. We run a mobile service across Lithgow, the Blue Mountains, Bathurst and the surrounding areas, and we arrive with the full professional kit — all we need on site is a connection to power and water. Some services, particularly ceramic coating, also need a suitable enclosed space, so we confirm that when you book.
A full interior and exterior detail generally takes three to five hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. A tidy hatchback sits at the shorter end; a family SUV with pet hair, sand and child seats sits at the longer end. A maintenance detail is quicker again at one to two hours. Ceramic coating packages are booked over one to three days or more, because the polishing and curing stages can't be rushed.
Our three detailing packages start at $150 for a Mini Detail, $300 for a Premium Detail and $550 for an Ultimate Detail, priced by vehicle size — the full guide is on this site. Those are genuine starting prices for a vehicle in reasonable condition. A heavily neglected car, pet hair or a recovery job takes longer, so send a few photos with your enquiry and we'll confirm a firm number, usually the same day. Paint correction and ceramic coating are always quoted after seeing the paint.
Yes. Coatings need to be applied and cured out of wind, dust, direct sun and moisture, so mobile coating work requires an enclosed garage or a similar clean, lockable space with power and lighting. If that isn't available, the vehicle can be booked into the Lithgow workshop instead — that's usually the better outcome anyway.
